A Psychology Student’s Perceptions (So Far)

Right or wrong, this is how things are looking like to me.

A. New Things, New Fears

Three major, revolutionary changes have been happening and continues to unfold before us:

1. The Browning of America;

2. Climate Change;

3. The violent, criminal, murderous, expansionist agenda and movements of the dictatorial- communist/-socialist governments of Russia and China;

4. The global race for the creation, development, and deployment of super-fast, super-intelligent machines, e.g.,

4.1. Generative Artificial Intelligence (GAI),

4.2. Robotics, and

4.3. Quantum Computers; and

5. Scientific-evidence-based anticipation of more global pandemics to come every so many years.

These unfolding universal phenomena are generating varying degrees of paranoia, fear, anxiety, anger, depression, etc. in a lot, if not all, of us—and that includes (perhaps, especially?) American white supremacists.

B. Healing-and-Health: A Must-Have for All

It must be clear and unquestionable to all of us that individual and societal healing-and-health is foundational (1) to our survival, well-being, happiness, and flourishing as one, global family of humanity (and that includes, or perhaps especially, our global rulers: the American white supremacists?—and they all must and can change, heal, and get better; and we all can and must help and minister to them with abundant grace and truth, in the same way that we can and must help and minister to all their victims, which is all the-rest-of-us, and themselves, too, because they are actually the first and greatest victims of their own white supremacist views, words, and actions); and (2) to the proper and rightful care and flourishing of our beloved mother earth.

C. Pursuing Precision for Healing and Health

Healing and health necessitates optimal precision and clarity in prescription; and optimal precision and clarity in prescription necessitates optimal precision and clarity in diagnosis. Aiming, praying, and working for the healing, wellness, and thriving of individuals, families, communities, and nations, it is therefore imperative that we pursue precision and clarity regarding the socio-political-economic dynamics and debates that we are or ought to be wrestling with. To do so, we must return to and stick with the original, historical use (etymology) of the political left and right.
