Welcome to my blog!
My name is Glem Melo. I am a believer-follower of Jesus Christ, founder and president of Open Eyes Mission (ministering as New Hope Global in the U.S.), and serving since 1998 now as a pastor and church planter among Muslims and other unreached people groups. At the same time, I am also a Doctor of Ministry (D.Min.) student at Trinity International University / Trinity Evangelical Divinity School.
For 17 years (from 1998 to 2015) in the Philippines, with co-laborers and partners, I planted six churches in Roman Catholic areas, trained and deployed two church planting teams to Muslim areas, taught and trained hundreds of pastors and missionaries, served more than 1,000 children-at-high-risk and their families, and developed relief, rehabilitation, counseling, and Bible study ministries to more than 3,000 survivors of killer typhoons. And as Northern Mindanao Director of Asian Center for Missions (ACM), I trained more than 135 Filipino missionaries and deployed more than 50 of my trainees to China, Pakistan, and other restricted-access countries in Asia.
Since 2016, I have been engaged in Muslim evangelism and church planting ministries in key cities of the United States. At the same time, through multimedia and internet-based tools, I continue to provide leadership, teaching, and ministry to two new church plants; mentoring to one new church planter; and trainings in theology and ministry for five churches — three in the Philippines, one in the Middle East, and one in the United States.
The Bible teaches that God is real, we are sinful, and Jesus is our only hope of salvation.
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16)
