God is the One who is fighting for you. He is the One who gives you victory in every battle of life. All you have to do is believe and trust Him and His word. This is God’s message to you in 2 Chronicles 20:1-24.

1. Jesus is our King-Emperor (Matthew 28:18), the Anointed One who is infinitely greater, infinitely more righteous, and infinitely more faithful (Matthew 3:16–17; 17:5; 1 Peter 1:19; 2:22) than Jehoshaphat (2 Chronicles 17:3–4).

2. Because of Christ’s perfect righteousness and prayers, God the Father has given us His promise of sure and absolute victory (20:15–17). Therefore, the Savior commands us to march forward in faith, praise, and thanksgiving into His battle field (vv. 22–24), which is also His harvest field (v. 25).

3. To defeat and cast out demonic powers and principalities, and set their captives free, we must:

3.1. Seek God (vv. 3a, 4)

3.2. Fast (v. 3b)

3.3. Pray (vv. 6–12)

3.4. Believe/trust in God and His word (v. 20). He is the One who fights for us and gives us victory (vv. 15–17, 29–30). Indeed, Jesus His Son, our Emperor-Deliverer, defeated satan and his demons for us 2,000 years ago (Hebrews 2:14; Colossians 2:15), and He continues to fight and defeat them all for us today until the end of time (Hebrews 13:8).

3.5. Praise and worship God (2 Chronicles 20:18–19, 21–28).
