Genuine Christians: Aliens, Outsiders Serving Humanity

“Daniel’s Answer to the King” (1890) by Briton Riviere

Regenerate believers in Jesus are “aliens” (1 Peter 1:1; 2:1) and “outsiders” (2:1). The Savior uses us, by the grace and power of His Holy Spirit, to continue His ministry: proclaiming the gospel to the poor and everyone, healing those who are not well, freeing persons and societal groups that are oppressed and/or enslaved to a dark power/s, serving humanity, making disciples, and multiplying churches. We pray and work for societal change and betterment, but as third-party servants. We are not stakeholders in the outcome.

For Christians indwelt and progressively sanctified by the Holy Spirit, hidden agendas are questionable and incompatible.

Therefore, by God’s enabling grace and dunamis (heavenly, eschatological power), Christians are to ensure that, in their hearts, minds, communications, actions, ministries, and other “fruits” (of the Spirit’s indwelling, and dunamical work), their activism against tyrants and dictators are free of and/or from lust/s for fleshly and/or worldly gain/s.

The inauguration-arrival of God’s kingdom in Jesus, through the eschatological-dunamical works of the Holy Spirit, creates new humanities in and from the Savior. And there are two new humanities: a common-grace-renovated new humanity (temporal), and a special-grace-regenerated new humanity (eternal).
