God’s Kingdom ‘Dynamically Active’ NOW

“The Sermon on the Mount” by Carl Bloch, 1890

“[T]he Kingdom of God is already among you.” – Emperor Jesus (Luke 17:21, NLT)

“Our central thesis is that the Kingdom of God is the redemptive reign of God dynamically active to establish his rule among men, and that this kingdom, which will appear as an apocalyptic act at the end of the age, has already come into human history in the person and mission of Jesus to overcome evil, to deliver men from its power, and to bring them into the blessings of God’s reign. The Kingdom of God involves two great moments: fulfillment within history, and consummation at the end of history.” – George Eldon Ladd, The Gospel of the Kingdom

1. In Christ, the kingdom of God has already arrived and been inaugurated (Matthew 3:1-2).

2. The inaugurated kingdom of God in Christ brings (a) inaugurated salvation to those who repent and believe in Jesus (3:3-6); and (b) inaugurated judgment to the unrepentant (3:7-12).

God gives His kingdom and blessings to sincere believers in Jesus. They already enjoy God’s inaugurated kingdom today. And on his second coming, they will enjoy his kingdom blessings in all their fullness and perfection forever and ever.
