A New Year Message

Six (6) years ago, at the beginning of 2008, after 6 months of discovering Reformed Theology, I preached 2 Corinthians 13:5 to our church, which back then was still called Vision Center for World Harvest*. Today, this verse remains a clarion call to all professing Christians.

“Examine yourselves, to see whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Or do you not realize this about yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you?-unless indeed you fail to meet the test!”

For ministers like me, the Bible is clear:

“According to the grace of God given to me, like a skilled master builder I laid a foundation, and someone else is building upon it. Let each one take care how he builds upon it. For no one can lay a foundation other than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. Now if anyone builds…
