We live in a universal Christocracy.

Jesus came to his disciples and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.” (Matthew 28:18)*

And so, Christ  is the fulfillment of all the prophecies in the Old Testament about the Messiah or “the anointed,” i.e. the God-chosen king of the world. And so, Psalm 72:13-14 comforts and strengthens us:

Jesus “rescues the needy who cry out to him
and the afflicted who have no one to help them.
He has pity on the weak and the needy,
and saves the lives of those in dire conditions.
He rescues them from oppression and violence,
because their lives are precious to him.”
