From creation to the new creation, with “Christ and Him crucified”* at the center… God is merciful to us. Remember that.
“He does not deal with us according to our sins, nor repay us according to our iniquities.” (Psalm 103:10)
“In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation** for our sins.” (1 John 4:10)
“Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Through him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God. Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings…” (Romans 5:1-3a)
* 1 Corinthians 2:2
** “The word propitiation carries the basic idea of appeasement, or satisfaction, specifically towards God… God the Son, Jesus Christ, came into the world in human flesh to be the perfect sacrifice for sin and make atonement or ‘propitiation for the sins of the people’ (Hebrews 2:17).” – gotquestions.org
