This week, as a new Doctor of Ministry (D.Min.) student (teaching and preaching concentration), I went to the New Students Orientation (2 days for international students) and started attending classes at Trinity International University / Trinity Evangelical Divinity School.
As I was listening to Dr. Wayne Johnson, Associate Dean of TEDS and my professor for Biblical Theology and Interpretation, during the orientation, I was thinking, “How did I get here?” Because I am just a poor probinsyano and former drug addict from a poor province of the Philippines.
Then I thought, “What am I doing?” Because I do not have the funds to pay for my tuition. And I also feared that I may not be able to make it academically in this world-renowned and greatly esteemed (and rightly so) institution.
But, as I always do… I just keep on keeping on. The goal: for me to study and get equipped to train and mentor pastors and church planters for unreached people groups worldwide.
Please pray for me. More than ever, I need prayer.
