“The time has been fulfilled. God’s empire has neared. Repent and trust in the good announcement.”

These are not the words of a Galilean peasant offering private comfort. They are the proclamation of a Sovereign — Emperor Jesus — announcing the arrival of a realm that supersedes every other claimant to power.

Gospel Proclamation

Heaven and the whole cosmos are an empire, ruled by God in Jesus Messiah through the Holy Spirit. This reign is not a future hope deferred to the sky. It is already universally established and fruitfully operating — and it will be consummately manifested in the age to come. This is the already–not yet shape of the good announcement: because of Jesus’ death and resurrection, by the Holy Spirit, God’s empire is already present — and the empire is yet to come. Both are true. Neither cancels the other.

Gospel Call

To our most beloved Foundational Black, Native, Latine, Muslim, LGBTQIA+, other oppressed siblings, and their allies: please hear this.

There are only two kinds of people. Those united to Emperor–Reconstructor Jesus Messiah through faith, and those who reject Him.

This is not a threat. It is an invitation stated as clearly as the choice actually is.

Stop doubting or rejecting Jesus. He is your only salvation, hope, and power. Unite with Him through faith. Free, heal, reconstruct — together, in and through Him.

He will baptize and empower you with the Holy Spirit. (Mark 1:8; Luke 24:49; Acts 1:8)

To the powerful, the compliant, the complicit, and the cowardly:

The same two categories apply to you. No political allegiance exempts anyone from the choice between union with Jesus and rejection of Him. Trusting the flesh — trusting a man, a movement, a party, a nationalist mythology — in place of trusting Messiah is rejection of Him, whatever religious language surrounds it. Setting captives free, opposing tyranny, protecting the targeted: this is not a partisan program. It is service to God and to humanity, the visible fruit of a divine reign already operating in the world.

The stakes named plainly

This is why the analysis cannot stop at the merely spiritual. Ousting entrenched corruption, democratic erosion, authoritarian consolidation; protecting the integrity of elections; holding power accountable; reconstruction for real — these are acts of setting captives free, however uncomfortable that may sound to those who prefer their theology apolitical. Our Messiah who reigns over the whole cosmos reigns over Washington too.

And remember: the powerful, the compliant, the complicit, and the cowardly are in deeper and greater captivity than our most beloved Foundational Black, Native, Latine, Muslim, LGBTQIA+, other oppressed siblings, and their allies.

So whose empire will you belong to?

Are you gonna remain captive? Or are you gonna be free?
